Living in Entiat
The community of Entiat includes many more than the 1200 people residing within the City limits. All of those living within the Entiat School District are part of our community. From Navarre Coulee to Swakane Canyon, and for miles up the Entiat River Road, you’ll find people with that Entiattitude.
In many ways, we are an old fashioned community that takes care of our own and works hard to make sure everyone’s needs are met. Many active community groups and volunteers make Entiat what it is today. From the Service Club helping to care for basic needs, to the Women’s Club raising equipment money for our volunteer firefighters, to the Senior Center hosting lunches and bingo, to the Tree Board coordinating Make a Difference Day, to the Park Board working with the PUD on park upgrades, to the Chamber of Commerce – 100 members strong – hosting monthly luncheons and an annual banquet to keep the business owners and city staff connected, we are a group takes the time to look out for each other. So we would ask folks to Volunteer! People who volunteer have lower rates of heart disease&live longer than those who don't volunteer.
In other ways we are a progressive, forward-thinking community that takes a good long look at progress and decides how we want to grow. For instance, fiber-optic communications are readily available throughout the City and for several miles up-river. Even in our cozy little library, you can stay connected through wireless Internet. The City Park revitalization plans even have an option for wi-fi at the campground. Our Waterfront Master Plan was developed from the citizens’ vision to restore the shoreline of Lake Entiat and make it a welcoming place to boat, jog, shop, and just have fun; and the citizens worked together on a US 97A Corridor Plan that provides for pedestrian and bicycle amenities, an expanded park-and-ride facility with restrooms, and ties to the Waterfront development.
Come on in and get to know us. You’re sure to catch the Entiattitude!
